Despite the abundance of negative reviews of Churrería Madrid, I had a very good experience. The food was very good, the service was fine, and it was quiet when I was there (I've heard it gets LIT though later in the evening).
The quality of the food here warrants three (3) stars. I ordered callos madrileños, which were impressively good, as it's a difficult dish to prepare well, and also tried the croquettes and tortilla. The callos had a few hard and chewy intestinal waste byproducts, which probably should have been cleaned out before cooking, but the dish was nevertheless flavorful and filling.
The churros, although not really what you'd find in Madrid, were excellent. The portion was very large too!
An additional one (1) star goes to the price/value ratio of Churrería Madrid. I felt like the prices were very reasonable (the churros were $5 for a large order!), especially given the location. The bowl of callos was under $10.
I would come back to this restaurant. -

I came in here tonight with the hopes of getting some authentic food from Spain, but when I walked through the door I wasn't greeted very friendly by the woman who was also working bend the bar. Perhaps it was because I'm not Latina? I have to say she was very off-putting. What I would have ordered would have been the tortilla Espanola, perhaps with a Corona? The calamares a late Romana looked tempting as well. As it turned out,I wasn't feeling the music that was blaring either. It seems too much like a bar atmosphere, then an actual restaurant to sit down and eat peacefully. I checked the menu further and I seemed very interesting. But in the end, I passed, turned around and left. I guess the first impression really does matter, at least tonight it did!

Nice place to enjoy great food and service. I've been visiting this place for over a decade and enjoy it every time!
My favorites are: Croquetas, milanesa or any beef dish, always a caballo and their churros are great. -

You can get a dozen freshly made and absolutely terrific churros for $4. It can be loud (think disco ball) so I always take churros to go. Honestly I am torn about sharing this review because it's so amazing and I want to keep the goodness all to myself. If you only want churros to go bring cash as they have a credit card minimum

We give this place 5 stars. Paella was cooked perfectly. Also ordered the fried snapper - decent portions on both.
